My Biological Father, Larry Woodson

Several of the most profound responses I received, was from two of my adult male friends. They wanted to meet with me and hear more of my thoughts and feelings after meeting my biological dad, Larry Woodson.  Over the phone they shared that they had never met their biological fathers and were moved by my openness.  We all agreed to meet the following week.

I wish to share our conversations with hope that our stories might help other men make peace within regarding their fathers not being present in their lives. My experiences with my grandfather, William Henry Roddy, and meeting my biological father, were positive experiences for me as a youth growing in Chicago in the 60’ and 70’s.  We hope that in sharing our conversations we can understand the powerful bond and influence fathers have on sons.

Next week, the conversations!

When I read your words, bill, I think of how similar & contrasting our childhoods have been. One enjoys writing when the story evokes feelings and thoughts, from the past, present & future…Keep up the great work! :)

Hi Jo, Thanks for your feedback. You are correct in that writing has been enjoyable and evokes many memories. It has evoked so many memories that were dormant. The book has evoked memories in others as well. These blog posts are a response to many requests to share more details. I look forward to hearing more of your wonderful and insightful feedback. Take care.
